Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Count Zero, the second novel in William Gibson's Sprawl trilogy (after the groundbreaking paperback original Neuromancer) was Gibson's hardcover debut. It continued the story that took cyberpunk to new heights, describing what we've come to know as cyberspace…and coining lots of new terminology we still use today. The trilogy made Gibson a science fiction superstar. This very fine single-owner copy was inscribed by Gibson to this seller, at the time a prominent Southern California bookseller, during a signing at the store I managed in La Jolla, CA. It has been kept in my personal library in a nonsmoking home ever since. The dust jacket is protected in an archival cover, and the book is in pristine condition. Inscribed by Author(s).

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. William Gibson (1984-88) The complete Sprawl Trilogy, UK first editions and first printings, published by Gollancz. All three volumes are signed by the author. The set consists of: - Neuromancer (1984), true first edition, signed by Gibson on the title page. I…n fine condition and a fine dust jacket which is NOT price clipped and NOT faded on the spine. - Count Zero (1986), true first edition, signed by Gibson with "Another British First! 1991" added on the title page. Fine condition in like dust jacket. - Mona Lisa Overdrive (1988), true first edition, signed by Gibson on the title page. Fine condition with light toning to paper. All three books are visibly unread and in superb condition as shown. Neuromancer is Gibson's debut novel which won all important genre prizes including the 'Hugo Award', the 'Nebula' and the 'Philip K. Dick' Award. It is the book that has defined the cyberpunk genre like no other, but is best remembered amongst the general public for coining the term 'cyberspace' in the passage: "Cyberspace. A consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions of legitimate operators, in every nation, by children being taught mathematical concepts… A graphic representation of data abstracted from banks of every computer in the human system. Unthinkable complexity. Lines of light ranged in the nonspace of the mind, clusters and constellations of data. Like city lights, receding…" 'Count Zero' and 'Mona Lisa Overdrive' were both nominated for the 'Hugo', 'Locus' and 'Nebula' Awards respectively. William Gibson remains the most inventive sci-fi writer of his generation and can be considered the true heir to Philip K. Dick. First and Fine. Signed by Author(s).
