Not ex. library. 307 pages, index, chronology, notes, refs. An intriguing account of events during the Crimean War Campaign, told through the letters of Lieutenant Hugh Hibbert, of the 7th Regiment Royal Fusiliers, sent to his family home in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. The second account is the story of a young doctor, Henry Critchley Brodrick, also from Macclesfield, who sent in-depth letters, back home, detailing his service in India and Egypt, during the mid-nineteenth century. The two accounts relate the stark horror of active military service, along with with lighter fascinating, and at times, amusing events. Contents new. Signed by Author(s). Book.
