It is 7-1/2" tall and has 249 numbered pages followed by an unnumbered page advertising the next book in this series; it is a somewhat thin copy, only 1-1/16" thick. It is square, extremely clean, completely free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are barely bumped. The bottom edges and lower front corners have very little wear. The exterior is in very nearly pristine condition. Except for an inked code and price on the rear paste down (see photo), the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Both hinges are strong and not damaged; both sets of end pages have fairly heavy toning along all edges, exactly where glue was applied. There are no illustrations, not even a frontis, in this book or any other book in this series. The paper is very lightly toned, not at all brittle and is quite flexible. The VG- quality jacket is reasonably clean with chips at all four corners and at the head and heel of the spine; the front panel has a short tear at both the top and bottom edge and each tear has several related folds. The jacket has no fading (see photo).
