Notable however for a three-page Autograph Note Signed from Hyde, sending the book along. Dated February 2, 1919 on his Dublin stationery, it reads: "A chara [Dear friend] / I am ending you my Book of Saints and Sinners for your library with all good will. But I sent some books to America during the war and not one of them came to hand. I hear they just chuck them aside. I hope it may not be the same in your case.
