From Net; Melville, Mullen & Slade of Melbourne, Australia, with an office in London were Samuel Mullen, A. G. Melville and Leonard Slade, but in the financial crash of the 1890's, Melville, Mullen & Slade was taken over by their creditor, McCarron, Bird & Co. Slade lost his equity and his name was dropped. The firm became Melville & Mullen. Retained as an executive, Slade was very bitter. His partners were later able to buy their way out of the débâcle and became Melville & Mullen. As usual with with diaries, printed/published the year before, usually about November/December 1892 for 1893.and used 1898. From a quick net check, was unable to find another diary of any year. So a very rare item and possibly unique in this condition, with original dust cover/jacket, Please see scans.
