Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The book is bound in tan boards with a black spine. There is a gilt crest on the front cover & gilt letters on the spine, all clean & bright. There is very light wear on the spine tips & cover corners. The front hinge is starting to crack. The contents are clean & unmarked, the binding is tight. VOLUME I ONLY.

First edition, 8vo, lxvi, 369, (3) pp. Autograph letter from Leyland tipped onto the paste down. Original two tone buckram, marked. The letter thanks the recipient for the loan of some of Cornwallis' papers, with a printed acknowledgement in the introduction.
