Dublin: The Dolmen Press, November 1954 - March 1960. Near complete set of the Dolmen chapbooks in the original paper wrappers (A Wexford Carol is missing replaced here by a facsimile). The idea behind the Dolmen chapbooks was to print short texts with illustrations, using various type formats and techniques within a uniform page size The series gives a fair picture of the very personal interests which informed the Press at this time, and several of the titles were issued in other formats (Liam Miller, Dolmen XXV - An Illustrated Bibliography, No. 17, p.22). Most of the pamphlets were published in editions of only 250 copies. Uniform size: 25.3 x 15.8 cm, folded or stitched and housed loosely in the original paper wrappers. Printed in different coloured inks. Occasional spots, the series wrapper with 3cm closed tear at head of of fold and creases to top edge. An excellent set overall and increasingly scarce.
