Pages remain bright and clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Thumb-marking present. Visible creasing to gutter. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Some tanning to spine and edges. Water staining to boards. Brown marks overall.

Occasional thumb marks to pages edges. Binding has remained firm. Boards have slight shelf wear with bumping to corners. Spine ends are a little crushed. Light tanning to spine and edges. Boards are slightly bowed. Slight forward lean to text block.

They branched out to carry other goods and people. During wartime the ships were used as a merchant marine to carry goods and troops.

Quarto 10'' x 8'' xvi, 207 [pages.]. 9 maps, one fold-out, monochrome illustrations throughout. Near Fine condition book, in very scarce torn and repaired dust wrapper, the only loss to the paper being small chips to the spine tip, not price clipped 15/-, spine colours not faded. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, which protects and prolongs the life of the paper, this is not adhered to the book or to the dust wrapper and can easily be removed should you so wish.
