The book also has significant rubbing, scuffing and peeling to the leather, bumps to the spine ends and cover corners with a loss to the leather at the upper endcap, sunning to the spine, wear to the edges of the title plate, dulling and discoloration to the edges of the text block, age toning, foxing and spots of soiling to the pages, and a previous owner's name elegantly inked to the head of the title page with a few very sparse penciled marks to the margins. Overall, this is a Fair/As Is only copy.

No other inscriptions except for a small penciled marginal note on one page. 8vo, pp. vii, [1], 528; 3 engraved folding plates, numerous figures and diagrams in the text; later gray buckram-backed marbled boards, paper label on spine; the bottom of the first half of the text block is dampstained and cracking, and the corners with small paper loss up to about page 170; all else good and sound. Simson was the foremost Scottish mathematician of the 18th century. His edition of Euclid, first published in 1756, was the basis of all subsequent printings until the beginning of the 20th century.

Rilegato. Condition: quasi ottimo. edizione illustrata. Rare in this edition. Illustrated, folded illustrated tables. Fine half calf binding. Near fine, tight, clean copy. Untouched inside with modest signs time and imperfections, including a single page corner missing and an 2 mm hole on same page. Wear outside on calf corners, spine edges and spine, where part of spine top is missing and part of spine bottom is partly detached. Five black (burnt?) spots on spine. Imperfections on endpapers.
