Hardcover. Condition: very fine. Octavo in very finely ribbed dark blue cloth with logo, line ornaments and titles stamped in gilt; marbled edges; 358 p.; 19 cm. In Norwegian (Norsk). A beautiful copy of the presumed first edition. Scarce thus. Sigrid Undset (1882-1949) is a celebrated female Norwegian novelist; she received the 1928 Nobel Prize in Literature. Small personal owner signature to title page verso, tiny "No. 40" stamped to front free endpaper lower outer corner; else a very fine, immaculate copy with very faintest of edge-wear. Appears nearly As New. First edition (presumed; no earlier dates stated and no indication of edition or printing quatity on title page or copyright page).

Vermerk in alter Handschrift auf Vorsatzblatt "Ida Biörn-Hansen. Julaften (= Weihnachtsabend, R.H.) 1934 (.)". Etw. schief gelesen, ganz wenige Bll. mit hauchdünnen Fleckchen, unterer Einbandrand minimal beschabt, sonst aber ordentliches Exemplar frei von Anstreichungen.
