Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First American Edition. Nice copy in its first printing. Scarce. His first three hardcover books were all Westerns and have yet to be surpassed. Unmarked, tight and square. Signed neatly by author on bookplate laid in. Reddish brown boards clean with pretty sharp tips and darker brown lettering and illustration on front board of lit dynamite. Crimped spine ends. Price intact jacket is bright and clean with only light wear. Many of Leonards books have been used in film notably Hombre, 3:10 to Yuma, Out of Sight, Jackie Brown, Get Shorty and Valdez is Coming. After his Westerns he turned to crime fiction and was without equal in that field as well. We were lucky to have him. In mylar. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Signed by Author.

Dust Jacket Condition: dj. First UK Edition. SIGNED by the author on the title page. A very presentable copy of what is, in our experience, perhaps the author's rarest title, much more difficult than the already-scarce American edition published by Houghton Mifflin the previous year. Very Good plus in a Very Good or better dust jacket. Faint ring stain on the front board, light foxing to the top page edges, else book is bright and clean. Jacket is chipped at the heel, with some associated shallow creasing, and several tiny closed tears at the extremities. Signed.
