There is a little chipping at the top and bottom of the spine which is rolled and has some edge rubbing and surface browning. There is a one inch band of browning at the top of the white circle on the front cover. Browning to the rear cover. Covers pulling away from the text block a little at the front of the book but the binding is secure. There is browning to the insides of the covers. With three pages of advertisements to the rear of the work and a map of 'Leathercombe Bay', the fictional bay in Devon in which the novel is set. In this novel Poirot is taking a holiday in Devon, when his attention is captured by an attractive young flirtatious woman, who is supposedly disliked by most of the guests. She is murdered during his stay, and Poirot find himself investigating the murder. A superior copy of this classic work of suspense, written by the Queen of Detective Fiction. In the original cloth binding in the original price clipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart with slight bumping to the extremities and the odd mark and fading to boards. Slight creasing to upper backstrip. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition, which just minor creasing to the extremities. Sensitive archival repair to spine ends and upper panel to the reverse of the wrap. The odd handling mark and spot to the reverse of the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with marginal age toning, as is common with this paper, and the odd spot, slightly heavier to the fore edge. Very Good Indeed. book.
