Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the field plot technique used in preliminary assessments of crop varieties. Namely barley, oats, and wheat when grown in small plots. The research presented here is the result of experiments conducted from 1919 to 1921. Using the data from these experiments, the author makes a case for plot size, replication, and adjustment to border row error as factors affecting accuracy. The experiments show that the size and replication of plots and whether yields were adjusted by means of check plots significantly affected variability. This book provides vital information for improving the accuracy of preliminary variety tests for small grains and identifies several errors that can markedly affect the outcome of such tests. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
