Blue cloth with gilt spine titling, soiled, faded to spine, with light general edgewear and tiny points of fraying to rear corner of spine head. Spine square. Glue stain in the gutter where limitation page was bound in. Binding cracked slightly between pages 20-21, binding else intact. Small dampstain to top of gutter through about the first thirty pages. Pages foxed; text else unmarked. Signed.

This is one of the few copies for Smith's personal use which omits the limitation statement and number. This is quite rare. Square, tight and clean throughout save heavy off-setting and spotting to paste-downs as pictured though pages have no toning. Bookplate on front end-paper. Mild toning to spine and top edge. Discoloration spots to cloth but little other wear. Very aAttractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($3.00), has rubbing to folds and surfaces. A few short closed edge-tears and creases. Edge-wear. Still fresh and bright and presents very well. Warm inscription, signed Edward E. Smith, Ph.D, clearly to someone with a close association. A sharp collectable copy. (Currey, p.392).
