With 6 full page plates plus vignettes to title-page and chapter divisions, decorative head- and tail-pieces and initial lettters, some printed in red, and pictorial endpapers all by Mahlon Blaine. With an original pen and ink portrait sketch of an African tribesman in full headdress to verso of front endapaper and inscribed "For J G Lamoureux: Marlon Blaine". Publishers' jade green quarter cloth with black titles to gilt panel to spine and deep pink paper-covered boards with black title strip, in unclipped pictorial dust-jacket. Spine tips and corners rubbed; contents clean and bright. Jacket split to upper joint and partially split to lower fold, and creased with small loss to edge. A very good copy in fair dust-jacket.
