Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. This book was issued to subscribers only and was limited to 180 copies. It is Volume ll of the Records Branch of the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society. This blue cloth covered book is generally in very good condition but the cloth has faded in parts , with the spine very sunned, and the corners are bumped . Tops and bottom of the spine are slightly worn. All edges are slightly dust stained. The text block is clean and tight and there are no marks or annotations. On the inner front board is pasted a cutting from the Wiltshire Times 21/11/40. This is a review of the book. Additionally lying loose is a poem penned by P.Y.J to J.H.P.P. - the author of this book by his sister. There is also an unlabelled photograph of two people , a lady and a gentleman , in an alpine village , as well as a postcard of the Alton White Horse. It is possible that the book is also inscribed by the author as on the front free end paper there is a small inscription to 'Mum and Dad' from Jack. The author John Henry Pyle Pafford was apparently known as 'Jack'. On the inner back board there is a pencil note of two references of reviews. The book has three photographs of the original manuscripts as well as many detailed accounts of how the finances were apportioned to the various garrisons. There is also a detailed index. 112pp. For some more details of book please see photo of contents page. . We only supply photos of our actual books - never stock pictures.
