Browning to top and bottom of spine and front and rear panel top edges, foxed to textblocks, covers clean and near VG. Internally name to inside board with small mark binding tight, slightly foxed to early pages and margins.  Dust Wrapper 3cm close tear to front panel top with related creasing repaired to the reverse with invisible tape 3cm close tear to front panel bottom left corner, minor loss to all corners with occasional  small close tears. Some of these tears have been repaired with invisible tape to the back of the cover, foxed to back of spine not showing through. Fairly heavy rubs to spine top and bottom. Crease to front flap top to bottom price cut. Good.  .

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. There is faint browing to the top and bottom of the spine and all edges.The spine is slightly faded. The front board is very slightly warped. Internally the pages are clean and bright but browned to the end papers. The binding is tight. Dust wrapper/ There is a 1.5 cm closed tear to the top of the front cover. There is a rub to the top of the front flap hinge. There is edge loss and rubs to the top of the spine. There is a tiny closed tear to the bottom of the front cover hinge. The bottom of the spine has rubs. There is a small chip to the top of the rear flap hinge. The rear panel is grubby. Not price cut.

Publisher's boards green with a blind stamped design, black lettering and publisher's device of dog to spine. Black and white frontispiece with three further black and white illustrations. Good plus in very good minus dust jacket. Some soiling to top edge of text block, some heavy foxing to edges also affecting early pages and a little toning to boards. Some chipping and some closed tears to dust jacket with some soiling to rear and a little foxing to the inside.

First Edition. 1st edition, 1952. A clean, tidy copy in tight binding. Dust jacket not price-clipped; small patch of surface loss on front panel; light edge wear; chipping to spine head/foot; protected in removable clear film. Used - Very Good.
