Hardcover. Condition: Good -. No Jacket. The Author (illustrator). Illustrated paper-covered boards; cloth spine. Early reprint; title page shows publisher as Leadenhall Press, London, while front cover is imprinted "The Macmillan Company." Single advertisement in rear for other Macmillan Company, New York publications. Single page black-and-white drawings with blank facing pages, depicting London's street urchins engaged in various activities. Title page, frontispiece, and dedication page are also illustrated. Each sketch separately copyrighted. Boards moderately worn and scuffed, including narrow 1" scrape to upper front board near spine and few other tiny scrapes. Front board lightly soiled; rear board moderately spot soiled. Moderately edgeworn. Faint "quarter-moon" shaped dampstain at lower corner of text pages from half-tile page to about halfway through text block. Interior otherwise clean and intact.
