If desire was strong enough, means and energy sufficiently available - and Mr Friedlaender had all of these - rare books were to be found. In fact, he showed two other qualities essential to any collector: persistence and patience." Lots 186-559 (those comprising this Part II). These include 49 lots which comprise "a highly unusual and carefully formed collection of documents dating from the 12th to the 20th centuries which bear seal impressions in wax.
