El fotógrafo del Área de la Bahía Henry Wessel (1942?2018) se contó entre las filas del grupo, junto con Robert Adams, Bernd y Hilla Becher, Lewis Baltz, Joe Deal, Frank Gohlke, Nicholas Nixon, John Schott y Stephen Shore. Conocido por sus imágenes en blanco y negro del oeste americano, el trabajo de Wessel se alinea estrechamente con la descripción de Jensen. Al explorar el territorio donde se encuentran la naturaleza y la cultura, Wessel capturó espontáneamente escenas de la vida cotidiana, a veces incorporando toques de humor inexpresivo en el proceso.
