First edition, signed by the artist. Photographer David Goldblatt documented the people, architecture, and landscapes of South Africa during apartheid almost exclusively with black and white film, judging that "Colour was too sweet for apartheid". Following the dismantling of the regime, Goldblatt embraced colour photography. Intersections published these colour photographs of post-apartheid South Africa for the first time. Oblong quarto. Full-page colour photographic illustrations throughout. Pale blue boards with white lettering to spine. With photographic dust jacket. Fine.
