Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Near-fine in laminated boards with slight rubbing. Published in conjunction with the famous 1955 Disney movie, featuring artwork based on various scenes from the film. Inscription from "Walt Disney" cut from another copy of this edition and affixed to the title page. PLEASE NOTE that while the inscription and signature look quite authentic, they come from the hand of Disney animator Bob Moore. Walt Disney's signature was in incredibly high demand in the 1950s and he could not personally respond to all of the requests. It is known that there were at least three animators who were allowed to do "secretarial" presentation signatures for Disney, and one of them was Bob Moore. These signatures have themselves become very collectible, offering an affordable alternative to paying thousands of dollars for items hand-signed by Disney himself. Inscribed by Illustrator(s).

First edition of this classic work, basis for the Walt Disney film. Octavo, bound in full morocco by the Harcourt Bindery with gilt titles and tooling to the spine in six compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, gilt illustration to the front panel, gilt inner dentelles stamp-signed by the Harcourt Bindery, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. With charming illustrations by Joe G. Rinaldi. Foreword by Walt Disney. In fine condition. An exceptional presentation.   Lady and the Tramp tells the story of a female American Cocker Spaniel named Lady who lives with a refined, upper-middle-class family, and a male stray mongrel called the Tramp. Greene, the editor and manager of the newspaper syndicate King Features, was the author of the short story, âHappy Dan, The Whistling Dog,â which came to Walt Disneyâs attention. At Disneyâs request, Greene developed the story into a full-length novel on which the film, one of the most popular of Disneyâs animated features, was based. The sequence of Lady and Tramp sharing a plate of spaghetti â" climaxed by an accidental kiss as they swallow opposite ends of the same strand of spaghetti â" is considered an iconic scene in American film history. Lady and the Tramp was named number 95 out of the "100 Greatest Love Stories of All Time" by the American Film Institute in their 100 Years.100 Passions special, as one of only two animated films to appear on the list, along with Disney's Beauty and the Beast which ranked 34th. In 2010, Rhapsody called its accompanying soundtrack one of the all-time great Disney and Pixar soundtracks. In June 2011, TIME named it one of "The 25 All-TIME Best Animated Films.".

Hardcover. Condition: Sehr gut. Dust Jacket Condition: Gut. 1. Auflage.

Is this what makes men love women - the plurality of selves within the one female body?" Folio. Photographic illustrations throughout.
