By Samuel Chew and printed in Philadelphia by Lindsay and Blakiston. 1864. 152 pp. 7.5" x 5". 12mo. Hardcover full cloth. In fair condition, with scuffing and loss along edges and corners of boards. Losses and tears to binding on spine. Cracking to hinges on front and rear. Staining to part of title page. Ex-library from the St. Louis Medical Society, with bookplate, stampings, and interior and exterior markings. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece by Samuel Chew (1806-1863), an American physician and writer who served in roles at the University of Maryland. A great piece for research and restoration.
