He was acting Rouse Ball Professor of Mathematics from 1928 until 1950. Provenance: V. W. D. Hale, Trinity College, Cambridge, with his bookplate and pen inscription. Hale completed his dissertation on Quasi-groups and loops associated with Steiner systems in 1952. Littlewood was elected to a fellowship at Trinity College in 1908 and, excepting a brief period during the First World War, lived in a set of rooms in the college from 1912 until his death. Quarto.
