Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Scientists, more than ever before, are interested in the logic of science, which has been stimulated by various interrelated circumstances including the development of the postulation method in mathematics, the unprecedented expansion of modern technology, and recent advances in the biological, psychological, and anthropological sciences that have created a demand for more effective theory and system construction. In this book, an attempt is made to free the logic of science from the historical epistemologies and ontologies. The elimination of spiritistic entities enables the logician to study the evolution of scientific constructs from the actual behaviour of persons with objects and events. The naturalistic study of scientific work and its systemic products is based upon Interbehavioral Psychology, which demands that the scientist be studied in his various contacts with objects and processes, both in the field and laboratory. Scientists are interested in the logic of science, which has been stimulated by various interrelated circumstances including the development of the postulation method in mathematics, the unprecedented expansion of modern technology. This book attempts to free the logic of science from the historical epistemologies and ontologies. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. 1st Edition. Printed in the U.S.A. First Printing. [Date from the copyright page.] Preface, Footnotes, Bibliography, Name Index, Subject Index; xvi, 359 pages. The original green cloth is in excellent shape, except for a rub mark on the spine and a touch of rubbing to the bottom edge; the corners are a square and the gilt lettering on the spine and upper board are as bright as if first issued. The interior is bright, crisp, and clean throughout; however, there is pale offsetting from the dustjacket flaps on the endpapers and the top-edge has a few freckles. The original dustjacket has taken all the wear: it is seriously sunned, especially on the torn spine, where a piece is missing that corresponds with the aforementioned rub mark on the book. Nevertheless, all writing and the original price are still intact. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] "A basic theorem of this book is that the primary service of the logic of science is to separate science completely from all historical ontologies and epistemologies. . . Another is that the full exploitation of the findings of current objective psychology helps to clarify the nature of logic itself. § In the final chapter . . . I raise the question how much and in what way science contributes to the general advancement of civilization."---from the Preface. As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking. Please note that, due to COVID, overseas shipping may incur unusual delays.
