Add to basketFirst Edition. Strange tale.First edition. 8vo. 316pp + 16pp ads. Publisher's red cloth titled in gilt and decorated in green to spine and front board. Light bumping to spine ends otherwise a clean and handsome copy. The helpful addition of a Book Lover's Library label to the front board is however worthy of note and perhaps the heaving of a sigh. Frontis. with tissue guard. The book is internally clean, although the rear fly and pastedown have a number of small date stamps and a library stamp, inoffensive and out of the way, but definitely there. Rear inner hinge cosmetically cracked. Were this a normal UK first edition it's ex-library status would render it best avoided; this copy is however in a red and green binding not covered by Morse and that nobody seems to be advertising awareness of. Most probably a colonial binding seeing as the lending library was in Melbourne. A very good copy of a curiosity.
