Echtfoto. Condition: Gut. 1986 veröffentlichte West ?Data Processing System Specifications for the Geosat Satellite Radar Altimeter?, einen 51-seitigen technischen Bericht des Naval Surface Weapons Center (NSWC). Seit Februar 2018 lebt West in King George County, Virginia. Im Jahr 2000 promovierte sie über ein Fernstudium an der Virginia Tech.[2] /// Standort Wimregal GAD-10.145 Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 10.

Add to basketOriginal glossy colour print, Deco style, measuring 6 x 4.5 inches''. No date, but probably 1970's. INSCRIBED by subject to lower right hand corner To/ Michael/ from/ Mae West/ (flourish). The recipient is theatre/film mogul Michael J. Cooper of Michaelangelo Organisation Inc., 3571 Berry Drive, Studio City Ca. 91604, and was one of a large number of autographs and letters accumulated during his career. Some minor crazing else in fine condition, in common archival mount. Mary Jane West was born, in Brooklyn, New York, on August 17, 1893 to parents involved in prize-fighting and vaudeville. Mae, herself, worked on the stage and in vaudeville from the time she was five years old. She never was academically inclined because she was too busy performing. She studied dance as a child and by the time she was 14, she was billed as "The Baby Vamp" for her performances on stage. Later Mae began writing her own plays. One of those plays, entitled SEX, landed her in jail for ten days on obscenity charges in 1926. Two years later her play, DIAMOND LIL, became a huge Broadway success. Mae caught the attention of the Hollywood moguls and was given her first movie role with George Raft in 1932's NIGHT AFTER NIGHT. Although a small role, she was able to display a wit that was to make her world famous. Raft, himself, said of Mae, "She stole everything but the cameras." The movie going public fell in love with the first woman to make racy comments on film. She became a box-office smash hit breaking all sorts of attendance records. Her second film, SHE DONE HIM WRONG (1933), was based on her earlier and popular play that she had written herself. The film was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Picture. It also made Cary Grant a star. Her third film later that year was I'M NO ANGEL. These two films resulted in the Motion Picture Production Code which regulated what content could be shown or said in pictures. As a result of these codes, Mae began to double talk so that a person could take a word or phrase anyway they wished. This was so she could get her material past the censors. It worked. She really felt she had a vested interest because it was her written work being scrutinized. She had already written and performed these for the stage with the very material now being filmed. Her next film, BELLE OF THE NINETIES made in 1934 was an equal hit. By 1936, with the films, KLONDIKE ANNIE and GO WEST YOUNG MAN, made her, at that time, the highest paid woman in the US. After the 1937 film, EVERYDAY'S A HOLIDAY, she didn't make another film until 1940, when she co-starred with W.C. Fields in another Mae West written movie, MY LITTLE CHICKADEE. It was well known she had little use for Field and his crude ways, even for her. After THE HEAT'S ON in 1943, Mae took a respite from the film world. The reason was the censors were getting stricter. She decided she would be able to have greater expression in her work if she went back to the stage. Mae continued to be a success there. When censors began to let up, she returned to film work in 1970 in MYRA BRECKINRIDGE. Her last film was in 1978 called SEXTETTE (with former Beatle Ringo Starr!). Mae suffered a series of strokes which finally resulted in her death on November 22, 1980 in Hollywood, California and was buried in New York. She was 87. The actress, who only appeared in 12 films in 46 years, had a powerful impact on us. There was no doubt she was way ahead of her time with her sexual innuendoes and how she made fun of a puritanical society. She did a lot to bring it out of the closet and perhaps we should be grateful for that. Signed.

Original ink & pencil drawing by Disney animation artist Jack Kinney during the time he had his own animation company and was approached by Mae WestÕs professional representation. The drawing depicts the incomparable Mae West in a beautiful formfitting long gown with a large hat adorned with feathers. The complete text reads: ÒAn agent who represented Mae West asked if we would like to do a series on Mae entitled ÔPretty MaeÕ.Ó ÒYou dam well betcha!Ó was our reply. So we had story meetings with her at our studio. Even dropped up to see her in her penthouse atop he Ravenswood Apartments.in her white and gold furnished bedroom complete with round bed, mirrored ceiling and pet spider monkeys! She was indeed a real lady, believed in proper diets, exercise, no booze and no tobacco. She had [a] delightful personality, and a great gag and story sense, very clean dialogue and speech.only innuendos, a real pleasure to work with.Ó Includes a signed letter of authenticity. The drawing was created as an illustration for his book Walt Disney and Assorted Other Characters. An Unauthorized Account of the Early Years at Disney (Harmony Books, 1989), and appears on page 187 along with the minimally edited text. Near fine condition with just a trace of handling. Jack Kinney (1909 - 1992) was hired by Walt Disney in 1931, the early days of the Depression, to work at the Walt Disney Studio on Hyperion Avenue in East Hollywood. His beginning career includes his work on several shorts, including Santa's Workshop (1932), The Band Concert (1935), and Moose Hunters (1937). He went on to become a director of cartoons, working on the features Pinocchio and Dumbo, but he really shined in the shorts department, where his Goofy cartoons are among the best to come out of the Disney Studios. He received five Academy Award nominations and won an Oscar for the 1943 cartoon ÔDer FuhrerÕs Face,Õ the only Donald Duck film to win an Academy Award. In 1959, Jack left Disney to start (with his brother Dick) Jack Kinney Productions, an independent animation studio. In his book ÔWalt Disney and Assorted Other Characters. An Unauthorized Account of the Early Years at Disney,Õ Kinney recounts the highs and lows of daily life as a member of the creative department at Disney, where the staff referred to themselves as ÔinmatesÕ and the practical jokes and camaraderie provided rich material for the gags and scenes that they created for the screen. Working for Walt Disney could be as inspiring as it could be frustrating and his book presents an insiderÕs perspective with great humor and candor. He puts it best in his introduction: ÒThese are my personal recollections of the Disney Studio where I worked for more than a quarter-century. It is the story of the little people, the strivers, the doers. It is about the pranks, the gags, the human foibles we remember so lovingly, and about the growing pains suffered by all involved. The Golden Age of Animation was a glorious experience.Ó.

Condition: Fine. - Over 190 words typed on 10-1/2 inch high by 7-1/4 inch wide his personalized ("E.G.R.") watermarked letterhead. Replying to Menasha Katz' letter, Edward G. Robinson thanks him and responds that "It may be a long interval since you have received any news from me. Nevertheless, I have often thought of the many pleasant meetings we have enjoyed and my visit to the naval academy in Annapolis under your your tutelage has remained vividly in my mind." He goes on to comment that "As long as your enthusiasm continues, you will be the 'young man' I always knew." He concludes hoping that "we will soon catch up while we are still on our four feet--two for you and two for me." Signed in full "Edward G. Robinson". Folded for mailing with staple holes at top left. Else, fine. Born in Romania, the well-known American stage & screen actor Edward G. Robinson (1893-1973) is best known for his tough guy gangster roles in such films as "Little Caesar" and "Key Largo". An outspoken critic of Fascism and Nazism in the years leading up to the war, his activism and contributions to war relief funds and cultural and educational groups brought him to the attention of the House Un-American Activities Committee. Though cleared, he was gray-listed by Hollywood and, for a while, could only find work at minor film studios. Also born in Romania, Menasha E. Katz (1900-1980) emigrated to Baltimore as a child. He served in the army and subsequently joined the Maryland State Police Department. A marksman, he was part of the United States Pistol team competing in the 1953 World Maccabiah Games in Israel. In his role as a Maryland State Police Officer, Katz served as protection and sometimes aide to visiting dignitaries such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Jackie Kennedy, Mae West, Edward G. Robinson, several U.S. Presidents, and the Queen of England. Baltimore Sun Columnist Michael Olesker writes that when Queen Elizabeth visited Maryland, Katz first kissed her hand and then, taking a British Bobbie's joking comment that the Queen likes to be "kissed on the face" as truth, did so. Olesker writes that while serving as Mae West's police chauffeur by day, on her visit for a charity auction, Katz also stayed with her at the Belvedere Hotel, quoting Katz as saying "'Only, you don't have to tell anybody I slept with her.' He considered that for a moment, and added, 'Tell 'em she slept with me.'" Following Al Capone's release from Alcatraz for medical treatment at Baltimore's Union Memorial Hospital, Katz served as his Police protection. Capone stayed with him at his home for 4 months along with 2 of his bodyguards. Olesker quotes Katz as saying "You know, guys like that, they'd come out of Alcatraz and they'd get killed. Me Scared? No, not a guy like me.".
