The surface of the unclipped jacket rubbed plus 4 cm x 2.5 white patch on rear panel where laminate lost. Significant wear to top and lower edges including creasing and a 2 cm tear on base of rear panel plus a 8 mm one on base of spine; top edge of spine frayed to a depth of 5 mm and its underside shows toning; the four leading corners rubbed with a little loss. Text block edges clean. Internally clean, tight and unmarked.

A nice copy of an extremely rare first edition book. Correct first printing. This was Farrell's debut novel and has never been reprinted. Farrell was later awarded the Booker Prize for the Siege of Krishnapur in 1973 and the "Lost" Booker Prize in 2011 for his book Troubles (1970). Very Good + book with no writing or marks. Small push to the base of the spine. Very Good jacket with very mild scrapes to edges and a tiny area of loss to the top of the spine. Not price clipped. Please see Firsteds for more rare J. G. A near fine book without inscriptions in a very good+ unclipped wrapper with some light chipping to the edges and one closed tear to the rear panel with a small chip to the top edge of the rear panel. The author's scarce first novel.
