Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some mild marking and tanning. Unclipped jacket has moderate edge wear with some small tears, chipping and creasing. Some tanning and foxing to all surfaces, particularly to spine.

FIRST EDITION, 8vo, pp. 183, [1]. Original black boards, spine lettered in yellow and blue, colour-printed dustjacket. Some spotting to textblock edge. Boards bowed, dustjacket a little chipped to top edge. The scarce second novel by (David) Guy Compton, who went on to have some success in the science-fiction field writing as D.G. Compton. In this crime novel, the protagonist is novelist Ben Anderson, who becomes entangled in a murder plot in the ruined mansion of a long-dead spirit medium.
