Folding menu, 11 x 8.5, one sheet folded with printing on all four sides, wear, soiling, splash stain on front cover, dated April 24, 1953, with Dinner Menu stapled to one page. INSCRIBED ("With Kind Regards") AND SIGNED BY CHARLES POTTER, who adds "U.S. Senator" below his name. Potter was a senator from Michigan in the 1950s.

An engraver, painter and tapestry designer, Krol came from a Polish Jewish family, although he moved to France to study in 1938. His father was an authority on the Talmud and Krol's early familiarity with the Jewish Old Testament remained an important influence in his work, not just in the subject matter he chose to illustrate, but in stylistic elements which derive from hieratic art. His work combines realism with decorative effect and pictorial symbolism similar to that found in Egyptian hieroglyphics.

Single 8vo sheet folded to make 4 pages. Front cover photograph of Don on the beach (of course). Inscribed by Don the Beachcomber: "To Dennis the Menace / Alohanni / Don." Ernest Gantt, who legally changed his name to Donn Beach, was a world traveler and adventurer eventually turned entrepreneur who opened Don's Beachcomber in Hollywood in 1933, a venue often frequented by the celebrities of the period. The tropical-themed restaurant grew into the immensely successful Don the Beachcomber restaurant chain where he became famous for his strictly-guarded recipes for rum concoctions. Don is considerd the father of Tiki culture, a movement still hugely popular today. Autograph material by him is scarce. Menu creased where folded down the middle, else very good.

Menu for the House of Representatives Restaurant in the U.S. Capitol, inscribed by Richard Nixon: "With best wishes to the newlyweds! Tom & Kay Hussey. I think you're both very lucky! Richard Nixon." On the back, next to the bill of fare, he has written, "Not as good as Green Island!" Nixon served as a Congressman from California from 1947 to 1950. A lighthearted autograph from a person usually characterized as quite dour. Old folds, light wear. Very good.

130 : 70 mm. Folded. Pretty restaurant menu signed by Picasso and Michel Leiris and others. The menu is from the restaurant La Voile d'Or, a restaurant in Saint-Raphaël. The specialities are Paté de foie gras truffé di Périgord, tortilla, Cocktail de langoustines and more. Michel Leiris (1901-1990) was a French surrealist writer and ethnographer. He was üart of the Surrealist group in Paris. In 1926, he married Louise Godon, the stepdaughter of Picasso's art dealer Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler. He regularly contributed articles on artists such as Picasso.In 1919 Picasso painted Still life in a window in Saint-Raphael". Picasso made this watercolor in the summer of 1919 while vacationing with his first wife, Olga Koklova, in Saint-Raphaël on the French Riviera. The newlyweds shared a cramped room with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
