In 1912, he sang the title role in an English production of Franz Lehár's operetta The Count of Luxembourg,[7] as one of the five principals, together with Phyllis le Grand, Eric Thorne, Lauri de Frece, and Daisy Burrell, who were collectively described by the Musical News as "all consummate artists in their own style".[8] Soon after the beginning of the First World War, Michaelis, then living at 8 Eton Villas, South Hampstead, was naturalized as a British subject, declaring the names of his parents and his place of birth as Paris.[2] In 1920, Michaelis appeared in the silent film The Little Welsh Girl,[9] then for more than a year, from 1920 to 1921, he sang the part of Beaudon in a London production of Irene at the Empire Theatre which had a run of 399 performances. Deutsche Handschrift auf Papier, datiert Berlin, 21. April 1835. Signiert vom Theologen Karl Friedrich Brescius (1766-1842), vom Konsistorialrat Prof. J.M. Palmié (Direktor des Französischen Gymnasiums) und dem Regierungsrat J.B. Stubenrauch. Darunter das Zeugnis, datiert A. (=Altdöbern), den 29. April 1835, signiert "K." (eigenhändig von Johannes Wilhelm Koethe geschrieben). Der Brief (34,3 x 21 cm) liegt lose in der Briefhülle ein (postalisch gelaufen als Herrschaftliche Schulsache). -- Zustand: Kräftiges Papier geringfügig fleckig; Brief mit kleiner Fehlstelle. Karl Friedrich Brescius, zumeist nur Friedrich Brescius (auch Carl; * 31. Januar 1766 in Bautzen; gest. 24. August 1842 in Berlin) war ein deutscher evangelisch-lutherischer Theologe und Geistlicher. Leben: Brescius hatte bereits zu Hause ein förderliches Umfeld für eine gehobene Ausbildung. Er besuchte das Gymnasium seiner Heimatstadt. Das schloss er 1784 ab und widmete sich anschließend dem Studium an der Universität Leipzig. Dort verblieb er bis etwa 1788. Er verließ die Universität als Dr. phil. Nachdem er zunächst nach Bautzen zurückgekehrt war, erhielt er 1788 einen Ruf der Grafen Pückler nach Muskau. Nachdem er die notwendigen Prüfungen absolviert hatte, wurde er am 17. Oktober 1788 ordiniert. Er war nun Rektor und Diaconus in Muskau. Etwa zwei Jahre später, 1790, rückte er als Hofprediger und als Nachfolger von Andreas Tamm als Erzieher von Hermann von Pückler-Muskau an den Hof auf und wurde außerdem Mitglied der Oberlausitzischen Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften. Auch engagierte er sich von 1797 bis 1810 in der Gesellschaft für Bienenzucht in Muskau und war dort Sekretär. Brescius wurde am 31. August 1806 als Pfarrer von Triebel eingeführt. Wie schon in Muskau reformierte er auch dort das Gesangbuch. Am 16. Januar 1811 wurde er als Nachfolger im Amt des Pfarrers von Lübben und Generalsuperintendent von Niederlausitz benannt. Am 19. Mai 1811 hielt er in Lübben seine Antrittspredigt.
