Dust jacket has shelf-wear scuffs and soiling. Front panel is decent with some minor soiling and edge wear. The spine has a 1" horizontal sticker scar and light chipping to the head and heel. The fore edge folds are rubbed with some loss on fore-edge corners. The rear panel of the jacket has minor soiling and a tiny tear at the top. The flaps are not clipped. A nice copy of a very scarce 1st edition!

Provenance: Walter MacNeill, with his original gelatin silver bookplate and his signature and address (Springfield, 1941) in pencil on the front endpaper. The attractive scene depicted in the image may be his residence in the leafy Adelaide suburb.
