Professionally and period sympathetically re-backed with ruled cross bands and the title and volume indicators blocked direct in gilt; very impressively finished. Page [77] is the fly-title, and pages [79]-331 the text. In some copies (such as this) of vol. 1, page 226, last line, the word "attention" is altered to "attentoin" these two states appear in both the first and second editions. In some copies (such as this) of vol. 1, page 263 is misnumbered 268. --cf. Todd and Bowden. In vol. 2, chapter numbers on pages 26 and 63 both read 'II', and those for 89 and 123 read 'III' all subsequent chapter numbers are short by two.
