Laid in is an "Elvis Cole / Detective" business card that Crais gave out right around this time when signing. Completing the picture you get surrounding the signing of the book is the stamp of San Francisco's legendary "Mystery Bookstore" with the store's 24th and Diamond Street address, and a phone number with no area code. Slightest spine lean from one careful reading, and two extremely faint vertical creases, visible only on close inspection. A wonderful copy of an important first mystery novel. Signed.
