The four plates show, by means of anatomical models, and name all the main muscle groups of the body, and the sections show exercises without weights and with chest expanders, barbells etc . F. J. Harvey was principal of the Physical Training School & Gymnasium, Exeter. Green/black boards, extremities rubbed, corners and head/tail of spine bumped. Light browning of prelims, originally a staple binding but now sewn and glued in to boards, some rust marks from staples visible at inner extremes of pages. Large inscription on front e/p. "By a series of plates the reader can seee at a glance what muscles he is possessed of, and by means of short. Instructions and numerous illustrations, he is shown how he can most easily develop them. .
