Plaid end pages and paste-downs. The book is in fair to good condition - the covers are worn and stained and the page edges are a bit soiled and stained, as well. The binding is tight. All-in-all, a decent copy. ; The author's first book, originally published in 1877 anonymously. This is a later printing, published the following year attributed to him and with "Author of "Triton'" under his name on the title page. Spine is a little faded. Discolouration to the rear board. A few light marks to the boards. Spots to the fore edge. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's stamp to the recto of the front endpaper, and to the recto of the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a couple of spots only. Very Good. book.
