Two first edition volumes exploring North and South Devon.North Devon (1906) by F. J. Snell has twenty six full page illustrations in colour and explores Clovelly, Ilfracombe, Appledore, Saunton Sands and Bideford.Collated, complete.South Devon (1907) by Chas R. Rowe and illustrated by C. E Hannaford has twenty four full page colour illustrations and explores Torquay and Torbay, Totnes, Newton Abbot and Salcombe. With only eight of 24 plates present. Missing plates facing pages 64 72 82 88 92 104 106 108 124 128 144 174 184 176 192 and 204.Collated. Both are in the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some fading to the spine of South Devon and some bumping to the head and tails of the spines. Previous owner inscriptions to the front free endpaper of North Devon and the first and last few pages are a little age toned. Some of the plates are missing to South Devon. Internally, both are generally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages. Good. book.
