[c.68 pages]. 59 black-and-white photographic plates. English. 305x230mm. 1kg. Near fine, in very good dust jacket; some uneven toning and yellowing to jacket as common, a couple of small abrasions to spine, not price-clipped; internally fresh and clean. David Bailey's photographic record of the landscape of NW1. The book was something of a  departure for Bailey. To capture the images he left his glamour-filled studio and took to the streets of his local neighbourhood, photographing the buildings and landscape from a local's perspective. An early working-title for the project was 'Banalities', the idea being to capture technically perfect shots of unresponsive buildings, but Bailey's affection for his local surroundings and the realisation that he was recording a vanishing world led to a much more personal and reflective series of photographs. Beaux Books specialises in fine and rare books on art and culture in the 20th and 21st centuries. We welcome questions about our books and we are happy to provide any extra images.
