Sternbach zuerst herausgegebenen und von K. Horna zweimal besprochenen jambischen Gedichte des Eugenios von Palermo ( = EP) liegen jetzt, dank der großzügigen Initiative von B. Lavagnini, in einer kritischen und kommentierten Neuausgabe mit italienischer Übersetzung von M. Gigante (= G.) vor. Diese Gedichte, die nur durch den Laur. gr. plut. V 10 (= L) überliefert sind, geben der Kritik so viele Probleme auf, daß Horna sich seinerzeit trotz all seiner Emendationen zu schreiben veranlaßt sah, daß manche Verse freilich immer noch dunkel bleiben. Durch G.s intensives Bemühen um den Text ist nun aber ein Zustand erreicht, in dem man Hornas manche dunklen Stellen getrost als wenige deuten darf. Dazu versteht es G., auch die Forderung von E.
