Originally issued in six parts, this volume has the paper wrap front cover of each part bound together at the end. Solid and very clean copy. Red cloth covers show rubbing along edges, as well as a little creasing at corners and spine ends. Bottom cover shows some rubbing and a couple of small and light stains. End leaves are a little darkened. Volume remains tight and contents are very clean. lovely plates!!!

The plates were first published in the Aviculture Magazine. David Seth-smith was curator of birds at London Zoo at the turn of the twentieth century. He was also the foundation editor of The Avicultural Magazine. He visited Australia twice and befriended, among others, A. J. Campbell.
