Illustrated throughout and with the fine double-page title printed in red and white (by Reynolds Stone). Note: Barbara Kaye (Muir), Percy Muir's widow, purchased this copy at auction (Bloomsbury) and sold it to me after exhibiting it at the Cafe Royal in 1996. She added a pencil note to the front endpaper: "Presentation copy from co-editor [John Carter] to John Rayner. With cutting of review of book by Head Master of Eton Dr Robert Birley". John Rayner's tiny bookplate can be found inside front cover. Two enclosed Prospectuses, leaflets, 4pp., on the front of one which John Carter has added "John Rayner with the compliments of the author of the blurb [i.e. Carter] | 21 Mch 67". He has added the phrase "in depth" to "descriptions of books" on [p.2], excising "full" before "descriptions", and added the phrase "and printed in red" after the printed statement , "double-spread title page engraved by Reynolds Stone", concluding the blurb.
