Illustrated DJs are clean, however previous owner has neatly trimmed top and bottom edges w masking tape (3/8") to guard against edgewear and reinforced backside of the spine and fore edges the same (not visible). Lightly tanned vertical strip on both free end papers; the front free end paper has scribbles by child in purple crayon. Slightly tanned cut edges. The text block is in very good condition with firm, straight and unmarked pages, illustrated with b/w photos and sketches by the author. Plus Appendix with 'Sailing Ship Drawings'. More purple scribbles by child on half title page and page facing. No dedications etc. In fair pictorial dust jacket with b/w image of boats and ships to front. The jacket is quite clean to front, grubby to rear; very edge-worn with open and closed tears; top of spine missing; small hole on tail front edge. Not price clipped. In protective plastic sleeve.
