I am unable to verify the inscription but it seems likely to be that of the author who was born in New York and at the time of publication of the book was Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Harvard and subsequently the Herbert Boone Professor of Humanities at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore] 60pp. blue cloth+ gilt lettering to spine.
