There is a 1 cm worm track at the head of the spine, near the lower joint. Internally occasional signs of handling but the contents are crisp and tight. Signatures of Stranrawer 20 D…ecr. 1793 / Arthr. Paterson on the front pastedown and W. Leggat on the front endpaper. Paterson has also left his signature on the rear pastedown. The rear endpaper removed. Calculations and sketches on both pastedowns. First edition. This popular work went through 7 editions, including one printed in Boston in 1792. A very sound copy in untouched condition.
