Title page and frontispiece detached (presumed due to a binding fault) otherwise very good condition throughout.

A complete set of 'The Practical Grocer' published in 1904 by Gresham complete with lovely fine paper guarded colour plates in very good minus condition. Original publisher's green cloth - gilt embossed to the spines and each front board with a vignette of a lady musing over a ledger. No inscriptions. All plates as called for. The text blocks and the pages remain very clean with just some light scattered or very scattered foxing. Notable mottling to the cloth - volume 1 - to the cloth of the rear board and only slightly so to the lower corner of the front board; Volume 2 - slight mottling to the cloth of the rear board, Volume 3 - notable staining and mottling to the cloth of the rear board; Volume 4 - light mottling to the cloth of the rear board and a notable stain to the corner of the same board measuring approximately 9cm x 7cm. A little dust soiling to the upper fore-edges. A very good minus complete set.

Very good copies in the original gilt-blocked cloth. Spine bands and panel edges slightly dust-toned and rubbed as with age. Remain particularly well-preserved overall.
