Fully calf bound, 5 raised bands on the spine, no title externally, scratches and rubbing and some little tears to the leather on the rear, splitting along side of spine, but remaining firm and robust. Text block firm, ink inscription to front end paper of the time of publication. Pages age-toned but generally clear of foxing, nice frontispiece. A well preserved copy.

Leather bound hardback. The book is bound in contemporary full calf. The binding is rubbed, the hinges are weak. The endpapers have owners' inscriptions. The title leaf has an owner's stamp. There is a crack between the gathers, the text is clean an d crisp throughout. Portrait, xx + 327 + [1].

Spine shows some slight drying, cracking. Rear hinge was repaired with Japanese tissue which is has broken and is now splitting. Prior owner names written on front flyleaf. EX-LIBRARY copy, with library stamp on title page. 'Discard' stamp inside rear cover along with a pencilled notation. Inside rear cover shows paper residue from where a card pocket or other lending library paper was glued. Text is foxed but sound.

Leather bound hardback, it has a portrait + xx + 327 + [1] pages and is complete. The full calf binding is rubbed and the hinges are weak, there are a few cracks between gathers with some gathers partially detached. The portrait and title leaf are br owning. There is some edge foxing throughout the text with some pages more extensively affected.

Armorial bookplate of Fulwar Craven. Ornate full leather. Spine with raised bands and Gold on burgundy title label. Spine bit worn. Book is in good double plus condition with noticeable signs of wear and/or age.

Remnant, Binder, 9 Lovell's Court, Paternoster Row" printed on the front pastedown. Three 19th Century owner's inscriptions on the endleaves. Boards are scuffed at the edges, spine bottom is chipped, joints are split but still snug, a good or better sound copy.

Leather. Condition: Acceptable. Rubbing to all edges. Binding is fine. Inked on inside front cover: John Filmer, July 1728, given by Aunt ,(unreadable). No other markings in book. Chipping to page edges of the first few page edges as well as the last new page edges. Feels unread.

Frontis. + titlepage +iii-xx (Preface, contents, booklist, On Mr. Nelson) +324pp +[4]pp (2nd publisher's booklist). Ownership Jane Kenyon dated 1743 + a few pen trials to free endpaper. Fore-edge of portait sligfhtly chipped at margin. Otherwise a clean tight copy with hardly any traces of foxing. A practical religious advice book with prayers recommended. 1 volume. Hardcover.
