Stapled wraps with two typed signed letters from staff members at the Arion Press laid in, the booklet has a bump with light creasing to the lower fore corner, a touch of wear to the spine ends, very faint sunning to the cover edges, and minor wear to the edges of the covers and some pages. Overall, this is a solid, bright, Very Good+ copy.

An informative prospectus on this new title, A Passion for Butterflies written and illustrated by Ian Loe MBE and fellow of the Royal Entomological Society, forward by Sir Ghillean Prance. This prospectus is a little smaller than A3 and approximately half the format of the folio book.8 pages; including extensive colour illustrations, complete with centrefold poster. Printed using lithography to the same exacting standards as the book, giving a very good indication of the quality of the book the paper is 250 gsm gallery satin. The prospectus is an excellant accompaniment to the book. Published 1st August, now accepting orders for this small print run of 250 signed, and each with a limitation number. The De-Luxe are now sold out and very few luxury copies remain. Size: Portrait 347mm x 243mm. Book.

No Binding. Condition: Near Fine. Birtley Aris (illustrator). 22x16cm, single sheet printed to recto and verso. Printed in brown and green with red initial on Lana card stock. Copy 124 of 175, signed by Ferguson in pencil and dated June 98. Most unusually, this Prospectus has a stated limitation of 175 copies (although the limitation of the book itself is not stated). The drawing by Birtley Aris printed to the recto has a manuscript pencilled title by Ferguson. Near Fine (small crease to one corner).

Condition: Very Good. Nummer 667 of unknown number of copies -- the book was sent to all the members of the Gesellschaft der Freunde der Deutschen Bücherei. An attractive printing in terms of paper, the Fraktur font, the overall design of the page, albeit not the most uncommon edition of the work. 4to. 25 by 19.5 cm. 61 pp. With a folded sheet "Prospectus", which we think was more like a printed cover letter equivalent, with details about the book. This has printed content on the rectos only, or two unpaginated pages. Some tearing of the "dust jacket" -- the translucent wax paper that covers the patterned paper pastedown. And the tearing penetrates into the spine's interior. Also some blistering of paper pastedown on spine. Wax paper has some stains, and it has also yellowed. Interior is clean, with light age toning to leaves, and overall a very good copy. Accompanying piece of ephemera without any issues or defects. Fair ("Dust Jacket" is merely a layer of paper, separate from paper pastedown, covering boards, without flaps but secured along edges) Semi-Rigid Boards. The poem, "The Raven," arguably Poe's best known work, and his short story, "Berenice," have been hand set in Cloister Old Style types and printed on dampened Velkè Losiny rag paper. Wood engraved illustrations and ornaments executed by Sandy Connors, and binding by the Florentine Bindery make a very attractive presentation of these classic works, and an introduction by David O. Tomlinson adds insight to the text.

Ephemera. Condition: Very good. A single oblong sheet of card stock, 34 1/2" x 8 1/4", printed on both sides and folded accordion-style. Lightly edge worn. This promotional excerpt from the publisher has been signed by Linda Hogan on the front.

A bright, fresh copy of the annual, this issue being the "Bicentennial Year" issue featuring articles on early efforts by the British to establish a consulate in California, the history of Fort Piute, the evolution of the University of San Diego, Father Lasuen's 1783 report on the Mission San Diego, historian-journalist Max Miller, the Molokan Russian Colony of Guadalupe, Santa Catarina de Las Yumas, etc.

Herb Yellin (1935-2014) was the highly respected publisher and founder of Lord John Press, considered by many to be one of the most important small presses of the 20th century. His close personal relationships with many significant writers resulted in an impressive number of unique, collectible,signed limited edition books. Working with some of modern literature's biggest names-Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, John Updike, Eudora Welty, and Joyce Carol Oates among them-and entertaining his personal fascination with Hollywood, Yellin was able to create a new realm for Lord John Press combining the two fields; several books, including The Lord John Film Festival, were the result.

With reduced reproductions of etchings by Mimmo Paladino printed in colour. 15 loose sheets, plus a further sheet with a poem by Giuseppe Conte printed in black, in a card wallet printed in orange, purple and green, title printed in black to the front. A lavish prospectus/announcement, in fact reproducing the entire work in reduced form, for 'Flores Seraphici', described as 'A series of 15 hand coloured etchings each signed and dated by Mimmo Paladino with a fronispiece designed by the artist and a poem by Giuseppe Conte'. The paper size of the actual etchings was 69.5x50.5cm. Scarce. Fine, with the bookplate of Trevor Weston to the back of the wallet.
