    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Half calf hardback with gilt lettered spine, top edge gilt. Moderately rubbed and very slightly worn at extremities, nonetheless showing well, firm and square, strong hinges. Contents tight and clean, very tidy, no pen-marks, just some age toning and occasional browning. Size: 8vo (225mm x 150mm). Collation: pp. xiv, [2], 528, complete with a large fold-out frontispiece (which is in very good order: very clean with no splits) showing thirty small portrait sketches. Note: a landmark work: The first ever biographical account of Lord Nelson. Thus a very good copy in pleasing condition. Scarce.

Bookplate to the front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean with just the occasional spot, mostly to the first and last few pages.
