Soft glossy flexible cream colored card stock wraps tied with a red ribbon. Interior unpaginated one-sided print in the tradition of a broadside in format is still clean and crisp with modern era black ink typesetting. Some fine decorative touches as in gilded inlay on front cover with silver embossed fleur-de-lis, one tipped in color illustration of a harbor scene as the frontispiece, and red ink woodcut emblems throughout. Protected by an additional plain paper wrapper with a chevroned pattern. This outer cover shows some nicks and small tears. A collection of generally aspirational quotations save Kiplings titular Recessional which is more like an elegy for the British Empire. Although Goethe appears on title page he must have been edited at the last. Not so credited but appearing are Publius Syrus, Lydia Maria Child, Henry Drummond, and Charles Kingsley. Approx 20 pages. Size: 6.5" x 4.5".
