Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Ludwig Schafer-Grohe (illustrator). First edition in English. Back in 1837, a Dr Karl Simrock, antecedent to Walther here, published a book in Bonn, Germany which translated as, roughly, "Legends of the Rhine from the Mouths of the People and German Poets: For School, Home and Travel". This little mass market paperback is a concise new edition, edited and updated for the 1970s. Originally published in Germany and translated into English by F.G. Adams. There are ten lovely full page drawings, printed on yellow paper, by Ludwig Schafer-Grohe. One small mark on foredges, small ownership label on inside front cover, very slight wear to spine, but a very good copy indeed.
